Divorce is the second most challenging life event that a person can experience -- no
matter what the age. Kids are often the 'silent victim' and do their best to adapt
and adjust to all the changes that occur when a marriage ends. Navigating these
murky emotional waters alone is a daunting task, and a lot of kids develop unhealthy
coping skills and behaviors along the way, which carry over into school, sports,
friendships, and family relationships.
This workshop will provide a safe place for emotional expression, as well as fun
activities to facilitate healing and healthy emotional growth. For the younger set,
the use of puppets, art, videos, role plays, and group discussions will create an
environment where kids feel comfortable and accepted as they are! For the teens,
there will be age appropriate games and activities that provides entertainment as
well learning how to connect and support one another. Both groups will be focusing
on developing healthy coping skills for living in two homes, and forming better
connections and improved communication with parents.
Classes also include:
(1) One "Mom & Me" class (moms attend class with child)
(2) One "Dad & Me" class (dads attend class with child)
(3) One Co-Parenting class for moms
(4) One Co-Parenting class for dads
